Hi Neil,

I have tried this but it does not work for me. I have set up a rule (through OWA) and even added the contact to the GAL with the external address. The Hub/Transport Server just seems to ignore the mail. In the Message Tracking I see a RECEIVED entry for it but nothing else (no SEND).

Since we are a hosted exchange provider I need a possibility for the user to do this himself. Is there any other setting on the exchange server I need to perform to allow this forwarding? If possible I want to allow it by OU, not for everybody.

Thanks

So I have an interesting dilhemma. I have used the instructions to set up a contact and and forward my email to my gmail account from the Exchange 2003 server at my office. Now I get any email sent from within the company domain only, if there is any messages sent from outside the domain it delivers only to my outlook inbox but the exchange server does not forward it to gmail......I haven't a clue why this is happening....can anyone help?

Hi Tia

Yes there is. When you create a rule to forward the mail to another account, the address list opens with all the Exchange addresses. You don't want to forward to anyone in the address list, but to another account. You just type the external address in the space provided and it will forward it. It has to be done on the client side so the user can turn it on and of as he/she pleases. That answers the question by Vann.

Hi
Is there a way to directly forward emails without creating contacts ? so basically user has no mailbox, and they will get their emails forwarded directly to their external account
